I stayed at B&B dei Transumanti for two nights in June 2013. I was travelling alone, making a pilgrimage of sorts to Ortona to visit my great-uncle’s grave site. Mario and his family welcomed me into their home and treated me as a friend rather than just a paying guest. The food was delicious (fresh fruit of the trees outside!) the room was fantastic and the house is beautiful. As an extra Mario is incredibly well informed about the Battle of Ortona and was able to give me local “insider” tips that I would never have discovered on my own. I can’t wait to go back and stay for longer and I really want my extended family to visit as well. If you’re planning a trip to anywhere near Ortona, this is the place you need to stay.
